May Overview
For some time now, I’ve been focusing on quantity rather than quality. Sometimes quantity is necessary but only if it retains a decent level of quality. This past month I have written a lot. A couple of pieces I’ve been really happy with, while others are not my best work. If we are constantly thinking of increasing our output, we run the risk of reducing our quality. Low quality articles are going to have a difficult time finding a market. Hence, reducing their potential income.
This month has been about quantity. For some writers what I’ve done may be not much, for my lifestyle it’s quite a bit.
I’ve -
written 45 articles for Helium
edited ¾ of my chick lit novel
submitted 5 queries to magazines for feature articles
written on both my blogs fairly regularly
commented on a few other blogs (though I wish this was more frequent)
come up with a dozen article ideas I want to work on next month
outlined an idea for another chick lit novel that I’m actually happy with
read 2 novels and 2 non fiction books
There’s also been a lot of unrelated writing stuff that I am extremely glad I have managed to do this month connected with my health and fitness, finance, and relationship.
How have you progressed this month with your writing career?
